Dr Eleanor Rosamund Barraclough Associate Professor of Medieval History and Literature, Durham University. who will deliver  her lecture:


Dr Barraclough is a cultural broadcaster and writer with numerous books to her credit.

Based at Durham University as Associate Professor of Medieval and Cultural History. Much of her research has covered the language and literature of the medieval North particularly Viking age history and Old Norse/Icelandic literature.

In addition Eleanor also teaches Old English.  At the heart of her work Eleanor has explored the connection between geographical landscapes imagined or real where myth and legend have become intermingled. Her career in broadcasting began when Eleanor was chosen as BBC New Generation broadcaster due to her talent to present her research in an amusing yet highly informative way. We are sure to be well entertained and informed .
