The Waterloo Band & Bugles of The Rifles is an Army Reserve band based at Edward Brooks Barracks in Abingdon near Oxford. Under the baton of Director of Music, Major Lawrence Sale, the Band & Bugles take part in a wide variety of events throughout the year ranging from Concerts to Marching displays and Sounding Retreat Ceremonies.
They have performed in many high-profile events and in some iconic locations, these include The Rifles Sounding Retreat on Horse Guards Parade, Changing the Guard at Windsor Castle, Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace, the Basel Tattoo, the Bermuda Tattoo, performing at the Royal Albert Hall, on The Regents Park bandstand and on Bournemouth bandstand.
The Rifles have a rich history and their traditions, still upheld today, can be traced back through their antecedent regiments – including the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry.
