British Living Legends at Blenheim Palace Adventure Play | 15th March – 3rd June

A new exhibition will feature in our Stables Cafe, British Living Legends

Laura Smith was born in India of a British Family, her formative years were spent in Africa, Malaysia, Indonesia and Europe. In later years she resided in The States but now calls Australia and the UK home. A Visual Arts BA, Laura’s work is displayed in collections worldwide and has been exhibited in many international galleries, including The Royal Academy, London.

Laura has said “It is important for me to show the essence of who my subject is, not just the physical reality. I want to portray a hidden meaning, perhaps a wry humour, a feeling of playfulness or a loving light, aspects I combine with the characterful quality of who they really are”.

Some of the Living Legends who will feature include…

Sir Chris Bonington, CVO, CBE, DL; writer, and lecturer and a legendary mountaineer, renowned for his numerous successful expeditions to some of the world’s most challenging peaks. Widely regarded as one of the greatest climbers in history.
Dame Jilly Cooper DBE: celebrated and much read and loved author. Her novels are written with humour and insight, she is best known for the “Rutshire Chronicles” and the upcoming series ‘Rivals’ will air on Disney+.
Dame Judi Dench; actress, considered one of Britain’s greatest, who is much loved and revered and recognised for her well acclaimed and iconic portrayals, and her extraordinary career in film, television, and theatre.
Sir Gareth Edwards CBE; a former Welsh rugby union player, recognized as one of the greatest scrum-halves in the history of the sport. Also voted by his peers as one of the greatest rugby players of all time
Frederick Forsyth CBE; renowned author known for his many gripping thrillers, best known for The Day of the Jackal and The Odessa File. His work has left an indelible mark on the world of espionage fiction.
Romy Gill MBE; chef, food writer, and television personality. Romy is a trailblazing chef, known for her innovative approach to Indian cuisine, blending traditional Indian flavours with modern culinary techniques.. and great food
Arlene Isobel FosterSir David Kim Hempleman-Adams KCVO, OBE, KStJ, DL, FRSGS, Nigel Mansell CBE, Valerie MendesMichel Albert RouxGerald Anthony Scarfe CBE RDI, Lady Henrietta Mary Spencer-ChurchillProfessor Steven Westaby FRCS and Sir Clive Woodward will also feature.
